- MichelleBut with that home, and now that I've seen it in person and I've
- been around the town, we will have it forever. And now our home actually, as a bonus again,
- which the agent didn't market, we actually own a piece of land across the road that is even
- closer to the ski field, that was previously merged onto the same title. And there was a little bit
- of confusion around that right up to contract signing, because I was like, how big is this
- land? And no one was really sure until we had all of the documents out. So we also own a
- vacant block of land that's almost as big as the one we have a house on. And it's closer to the ski field.

- MichelleAnd so we've basically said to my daughter now, who's twelve: well, that's yours.
- That's going to be your home across the road now.
- When she's ready to build.
- So we plan to have it forever.

Michelle's pitch to Elliot was break-even in two years against what they were already spending on resort hotels. Having seen the house and walked the town, that arithmetic has stopped mattering: they will have it forever.
Then, right up to contract signing, it emerged that the title also carried a vacant block across the road, nearly as big as the house block and closer to the ski field. Nobody had marketed it, and nobody was sure of its size until every document was on the table. It is now earmarked for their daughter, for when she is ready to build.
We will have it forever.
What this may mean for you
Read the title, not the listing. What is actually being sold can differ from what is marketed, in both directions, and the documents are the only place to find out.
See the questions to ask before committingMichelle’s experience, told in her words. Not a cost promise, legal advice or a general claim about risk.
