- which none of them have ever had. So my husband's parents, his sister and brother-in-law, and the
- cousins. So they're all coming over for a white Christmas. So luckily our home is four bedrooms.
- And yes, our only condition was that… because we're not going to Airbnb or anything like that.
- I know some people look for a property that they can use as a holiday home and then Airbnb it. That's
- not what we're interested in. It's going to be our second home. And our only requirement was that
- when you stay with us, we're going to eat out every night. We're going to, like, help bring
- Yubari back to a little bit more prosperity. Yeah, that's our requirement when people come and stay with us.

The idea began as a more sustainable way to continue the family's regular trips to Japan. They do not plan to operate the property as an Airbnb. They see it as a long-term family base and want their time in Yubari to contribute to the local community.
This winter the whole extended family is booked in from the first week of December to the last week of January: Elliot's parents, his sister and brother-in-law, the cousins. None of them has had a white Christmas. The house has four bedrooms, and one rule: when you stay, you eat out in town every night.
